The Vintage Suit Hire Company is proud to welcome visitors from all over the country owing to the unique nature of what we do. As purveyors of our worsted wool suits for hire or purchase, our shop is perfectly located in the heart of our home town, Bedford. We have curated a series of lists of places to go to if you have the time before or after your appointment with us, and the third is related to the wonderful selection of places to stay in town.
For some of our grooms, travelling hours each way in one day isn’t possible, and Bedford is a gem of a place with lots to explore, so here’s some suggestions of where to stay if you are in town.
D’Parys: TREAT YOURSELF! D’Parys is a stunning hotel/restaurant and a great way to turn your visit to The VSHC to a mini-break. Owned by Charles Wells Brewery, D’Parys is simply stunning and they do an unbelievable £50 B&B rate if you stay on a Sunday. Rooms have roll top baths and to put it into context, Mrs. & Mr. VSHC have stayed here a couple of times for a little treat, even though it is about a 15 minute walk from our house. Pure indulgence!
Premier Inn: Everything is Premier except the price… You know what you are getting with Premier Inn and they have just opened a brand new one as part of the new Riverside North development a short walk from the shop. Shiny and new and not to be grumbled at!
The Embankment: As featured in our places to eat blog, the Embankment has rooms to stay in. The rooms are recently renovated to a stunning standard and what’s more, they are dog friendly. Perfect if you want to treat yourself and your furry friend to a luxury night away.
The Castle: The Castle is a lovely pub just up the road from the shop which is well known for its good food and welcoming atmosphere. They have en-suite rooms for £70 per night – any night of the week which means it can be a great option for exploring what Bedford has to offer.
